On the “Sites” menu in Dreamweaver, select “Manage Sites”. On this dialog click “New” and select “Site”.
Pick a name for you site and provide the URL that your site will be accessible at. You may pick any name you wish, the Site Name is not a part of the file directory and will not affect your links.
Select “No, I do not want to use a server technology.”
Select “Edit local copies on my machine, then upload to server when ready (recommended).” You can set up your Local Site anywhere on your computer or the KSG Network. The Local folder is where you will do all the editing to your webpage, which you will upload to the live server when you are satisfied with your edits.
Select “Local/Network” to connect to the server.
Select “No, do not enable check in and check out.” Most Web Editors are the only people in their department who make edits to their site, if multiple people edit the website check in and check out may be a good idea. It prevents one user from editing an html page that is opened by another user.
Review your input on the screen, and when you are certain it is correct, click “Done” and your site will be added.
